How a scammer can help you, your friends and your relatives

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

Thanks to EXPEDIA a lot of people won’t be deceived by other online travel sites

After EXPEDIA tried to scam me (and failed miserably because my credit card company forced EXPEDIA to reimburse me1254,96 U$D EXPEDIA tried to keep in a fraudulent way) I won’t be using ORBITZ, Travelocity, Cheaptickets, Priceline . The reason is because I found a lot of complaints about them.

I made a compilation few months ago (http://www.victimsofexpedia.com/otas.htm ).

The good thing is that a lot of people are visiting my web site (especially www.expedianews.com and learning how EXPEDIA cheats, lies and scam people. They can use this information to learn about other travel sites and avoid being scammed by them

Another reason is that I found that the best way to book a flight or a hotel is to go directly to the airlines. One can use for www.Kayak.com (by the way I have to do with Kayak) to search for a flight and then go directly to the airline (ignoring EXPEDIA and other travels sites). This way is cheaper and safer since you avoid a third party (sometimes a scammer like EXPEDIA).

Happy New Year.

Who is helping EXPEDIA to scam people?

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

Someone is deleting negative aspects of EXPEDIA in Wikipedia: http://www.victimsofexpedia.com/wiki.htm . This is clear an strategy to deceive travelers.

Is someone preventing people to reach www.victimsofexpedia.com by controlling internet traffic? That would be an attack to free speech.

Be careful, EXPEDIA might try to scam you too.

How EXPEDIA became the “laughing stock” in the travel industry?

EXPEDIA tried to scam Johnny Doe and failed miserably. That was the most expensive 0.00 U$D EXPEDIA ever made. This is very funny: a multibillion dollar company trying to scam a regular person. For just 1254.95 U$D (the amount EXPEDIA tried to keep fraudulently from Johnny Doe), EXPEDIA became the laughing stock.

-         People are making jokes about EXPEDIA (http://www.victimsofexpedia.com/jokes01.htm )

-         People are singing the famous expedia dot coommm !!!! as EXPEDIA DOT SCAAAMMMM.

In regular talks people use EXPEDIA as reference

If people ask about your travel experience you can use phrases like these.

For bad EXPERIENCES:

“My trip was horrible as if I had used EXPEDIA”

“It was bad but nothing too bad as EXPEDIA”

“It was a hell, like if I had made reservations through EXPEDIA”.

“That travel agency is a ripoff like EXPEDIA”

For moderate bad EXPERIENCES

“ Not as bad as my previous experience with EXPEDIA”

“It could have been worse, thanks god I didn’t use EXPEDIA”

“ The hotel was bad but at least they didn’t try to scam me like EXPEDIA once”

For good travel EXPERIENCES

“It was wonderful, thanks God I didn’t use EXPEDIA this time”

“Very honest travel agency, unlike EXPEDIA they kept their promises”

“Definitely better than EXPEDIA”

“Thanks to www.victimsofexpedia.com I wasn’t scammed this time”

Random phrases to use:

“It was just a Nigerian scam, no a sophisticated one like the EXPEDIA scam”

“If you want to be scammed try EXPEDIA”

“Experienced travelers don’t use EXPEDIA because they don’t want to be scammed”

“Oooh, Were you scammed by EXPEDIA? Welcome to the www.victimsofexpedia.com club!!!!!!.

How to scam travelers

Thursday, January 24th, 2008

If you buy a ticket for 1249,95 U$D EXPEDIA will charge you a 5 U$D fee and it will appear a total 1254,95 U$D transaction in your credit card.

What if EXPEDIA fail to provide the service? What if EXPEDIA never arrange your trip?

Who keeps that money? Do you think that the airline see that money? Do you think EXPEDIA cheats people to make the airlines richer?

If the airline never sees that money then EXPEDIA can make a fortune by simply selling something (tickets, rooms). Then, they just need to find an excuse (or even lie or cheat you) to not provide the service and keep your money.

Well, something like that happened to me with EXPEDIA (read my case at http://www.victimsofexpedia.com/mycase.htm ).

In my case the conclusion is pretty simple:

EXPEDIA failed to arrange my trip, then EXPEDIA lied to me = EXPEDIA tried to scam me.

No matter what EXPEDIA says it was an attempt to scam me.

Be careful, you might be the next victim

A scammer hidding behind a legitimate company

Six reasons why only unaware travelers use EXPEDIA? (I was one of them)

1)      They don’t know about www.expedianews.com ( a website with hundreds maybe thousands of complaints about EXPEDIA’s unethical business practice)

2)      EXPEDIA is not cheaper than booking directly with the hotel and/or the airline. Make a search in www.kayak.com (I have nothing to do with kayak) and you will find out that EXPEDIA is in most of the cases few dollars more expensive

3)      EXPEDIA’s policy is not to reimburse money for its own mistakes. EXPEDIA has very tricky “terms and conditions” that makes very difficult for people to sue them. One point deserves an explanation: when you book through EXPEDIA and you “agree” to their “terms and conditions” if you want to sue EXPEDIA you have to do it in a court in Washington. This is the “governing law” that EXPEDIA uses to freely cheat customers because nobody wants to spend thousands of dollars in a court out of state. If you live in Florida, you probably prefer to loose hundreds of dollars instead of arranging a court in Washington. EXPEDIA knows this and they use it to deceive customers.

4)      If you book through EXPEDIA, once they charged your credit card, you are on your own. If a problem arise (I mean a problem caused by EXPEDIA), they won’t have any dilemma in abandon you in a foreign country without a flight ticket. The best they will do is offer you a another very expensive ticket (that YOU will have to pay).

5)      If you book trough EXPEDIA and you have no problem you are a happy customer and EXPEDIA earns your loyalty. BIG MISTAKE: Having used expedia before with no problem is not a guarantee they will not scam you in the next trip. I used EXPEDIA a couple o times with no troubles. I thought EXPEDIA was a reliable company until they tried to scam me in my last trip (http://www.victimsofexpedia.com/mycase/htm ). In fact, EXPEDIA is running a scam besides its legitimate business:  at the same time EXPEDIA cheat a significant number of customers. This strategy makes EXPEDIA the perfect scam: they look legitimate, they scam a certain number of travelers and they never reimburse anything for their own mistakes.

6)      EXPEDIA’s top executives are supporting that scam. If you write a letter to them they will never answer.  The only explanation is : they are top scammers

General conclusions: you, your friends and relatives might be the next victims of EXPEDIA’s unethical business practice.

Self humilliaton as a way to keep scamming travelers

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

I had the opportunity to sue EXPEDIA and win (and maybe become a rich guy, don’t forget this is AMERICA) the case since I have evidence of their lies and attempt to scam me. However I decided no to do it.

On the other hand, EXPEDIA can also sue me, but they know it is not going to be good for them. Apparently EXPEDIA decided no to sue me: www.victimsofexpedia.com is alive and alerting travelers  since early 2006.

Here are some reasons:

Four reasons why I (Johnny Doe) don’t sue EXPEDIA

1)      I have to do it in a court in Washington. That will cost me thousands of dollars and time that I prefer to use to alert other travelers. Besides I don’t need to sue EXPEDIA to make a living. Have you seen Johnny Doe begging in the streets?

2)      I will loose the chance to alert other travelers about this travel scam. If my case is closed I won’t have anything to alert. I might quietly stop working in www.victimsofexpedia.com and www.expedianews.com .

3)      It is fun to annoy EXPEDIA knowing that they will keep hiding (they act like all scammers do when they are exposed). It is the only thing EXPEDIA can do (legally of course)

4)      I’m thinking about writing a book. I’m not sure about the title, maybe “How EXPEDIA failed to scam me” by Johnny Doe, MD., PhD. or maybe “The most Expensive 0.00 U$D EXPEDIA ever made”  or  “A failed attempt to scam a traveler” .  I will include all the e-mails I sent to EXPEDIA and all the e-mails they sent to me. Showing their lies.  I will include also some e-mails from KLM (Royal Dutch Airlines) that corroborate some of EXPEDIA’s lies. This book might become a cheap Best-Seller but who care. People use (and like) to read this kind of crap. I don’t want to win the Pulitzer Prize, just alert people.

Four reasons why EXPEDIA doesn’t sue victims of EXPEDIA

1)      My case (or how EXPEDIA tried to scam me – www.victimsofexpedia.com  ) is true. EXPEDIA cannot sue me for libel and slander because the absolute defense is “Truth” , so EXPEDIA will lose the case.

2)      Scammers cannot sue their victims. Did you ever hear about a 419 scammer (Nigerian scammer) suing their victims? It will be ridiculous.

3)       It will be very bad publicity for EXPEDIA. You can imagine headlines like this “Giant EXPEDIA lose a case against a customer” or “EXPEDIA’s victim make fun of a multibillion company” or “It is official: EXPEDIA is a scam” .  People will read the rest of my case with more interest.

4)      EXPEDIA prefers to ignore my case and focus in scamming more people. Your friends and relatives might be the next victims. Alert them, there are already people that feel they have been cheat by EXPEDIA in 2008 (www.expedianews.com ).

Isn’t this humiliating for EXPEDIA?

Once a thief always a thief, once a scammer always a scammer

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

People will know you as

“the one that tried to scam Johnny doe… and failed miserably”

“The scammer”

“The laughing stock in the travel industry”

“The one that cannot be trusted”

People will alert their friends and relatives

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

They will say “Be careful with EXPEDIA” apparently, they tried to scam Johnny Doe and failed miserably, but they can try to scam you too. Read Johnny’s case: http://www.victimsofexpedia.com/mycase.htm . Once a scammer, always a scammer.

Very embarrasing!!

You will be know as “the scammer” and people will make jokes about you
